This is a scan of soft tissue lumps or swellings.

Soft tissue lumps and swellings can be assessed by Ultrasound giving an indication of whether they are solid or cystic in nature.  A water based gel will be put onto your skin and a hand held probe called a transducer will be moved over the skin. There is no preparation for this scan however please where clothes that gives easy access to the area to be scanned.

This scan normally takes 20 minutes.
